I have been writing to the Void for over thirty years! God I am old! Never mind that! And the Void has been good to me, never giving out, never providing ‘constructive’ feedback. I have been queen of my castle, master of my domain, for so long that now, when actual human beings read what I am writing I am like … ahhh … what do I do now?
Yes! I will for sure! I love my witches and I plan to create an entire world for them! Thank you so much for your words! Illusions come and go, but witches prevail! 💐
You are going to write anyway. That is what you do, whether I approve of your subject matter or not. That is wonderful. I read most of your writing and have to admit that it touched on some sensitive subjects. Or should I say, much of it evokes some reactionary responses. I had to look past these stained glass windows of my prejudices. I'm looking for what to call them. They aren't ingrained, at least I do not think they are. They may be to a point though. From readings, and television shows much imagery surrounds the so called supernatural. How can anything be supernatural though? That word in itself applies parameters that are UN-natural. I could see something in your writing though. It is written from a position of purity and a playful heart burden by chains of an implied shame grateful that she doesn't have to write to the void. Stand firm and be beautiful!
Your title was compelling, I understood it instantly. I too have poured myself out into the Void. And, like you, I have come to understand that the emptiness is not offering me anything I really need.
I stayed home today, took care of my new puppy. Did some writing. I’ve got a new Substack post coming out tomorrow.
I like your writing very much. You have an openness and candor that is compelling. I’ve just read this post and one other, but I will strive to keep track of your work.
Could you write more on the disillusioned witches in Dublin as I fit that description!
